Ron Paul, presidential hopeful

What would you expect one of the most famous Duke Med School alumni to be doing right now? Surgery, pathology, and oncology might be among the things that spring to mind.

Running for President probably wouldn't one of your guesses, but Ron Paul, Duke Medical School '61, was always one to buck the trend. Following his brief stint in Durham, Paul, 71, served as a flight surgeon during the Vietnam War before becoming a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Although Paul is not among the frontrunners for the 2008 presidential campaign, this conservative, constitutionalist libertarian has found himself a following on the net. With YouTube channel views second only to Barack Obama, he's becoming quite the favorite long shot.
