Field Mob to accompany Ludacris

The brash, good-natured Dirty South rap outfit known as Field Mob will be the opening act for the Sept. 24 Ludacris concert at Cameron Indoor Stadium.




CS professor earns award
The National Science Foundation has awarded assistant professor of computer science Jun Yang a Faculty Early Career Development Award. The award is one of the highest honors given by NSF to young tenure-track university faculty members.
As part of the award, the NSF will provide Yang $400,000 over the next five years, which he will use to support his research project, Techniques and Applications of Derived Data Maintenance.
Yang received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1995 and his doctorate in 2001 from Stanford University. The computer scientist's research interests include database and information management systems.
