Letter: 38 Americans killed, 74 injured by Palestinian terror

The caption accompanying the picture of the vigil for Rachel Corrie inaccurately reported that "Corrie was the first American casualty in the recent Israeli-Palestinian conflict." Prior to this incident, there have been at least 38 American citizens killed and 74 injured by Palestinian terrorists in the recent Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Most recently, March 5, 2003, Abigail Leitel, 14, was killed in a bus bombing in Haifa. Before that bombing, five American citizens were killed and four were injured in the bombing of a cafeteria at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in July 2002.

Please see http://www. house.gov/burton/RSC/PalestinianTerrorismFacts.PDF for a full list of American citizens injured or killed by Palestinian acts of violence since the Oslo accords were signed on Sept. 13, 1993.
