BOT announces six new members

The Duke Board of Trustees announced that it will be adding six new members on July 1.

According to a press release by Duke News, three new members will serve six year terms—Stephen Pagliuca, a managing director at the global investment firm Bain Capital and co-owner and managing general partner of the Boston Celtics, Carmichael Roberts Jr., a general partner at North Bridge Venture Partners and Edward Gilhuly, a founder and partner of Sageview Capital LP, a private investment firm.

Three observing members will also serve the Board—Shepard Moyle, the owner and CEO of Shindigz, Christopher Brown, Trinity ‘13 and Katherine Duch, a Duke Ph.D. candidate in public policy.

The Board of Trustees is the University’s governing body.  The Board is responsible for the school's educational mission and fiscal policies, and it has 37 total members.

Brown was selected to serve through the student-wide undergraduate Young Trustee election. Duch was elected by the Graduate and Professional Student Council as graduate Young Trustee.  The two will serve one year on the Duke board as non-voting members and one year as voting members.
