Lights, covid, action

Sitting in front of my computer for two or three 75-minute Zoom meetings in a day, completing schoolwork and tasks which can only be done via said computer (and maybe giving myself a break and watching an episode of TV), my screen time is soaring to nauseous heights. This certainly doesn’t make me feel like I’m doing what’s best for my health. Ending the day with raw eyeballs and the inklings of a headache doesn’t make me want to go back  and do the same thing the next day.


Weed v. United States

Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman’s campaign slogan for an upcoming U.S. Senate run is “Fetterman4Senate 2022.” The “4” and “20” are seaweed colored, a nod to the de facto marijuana holiday on April 20th. Following Fetterman, other major politicians, including Senators Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Majority Leader Chuck Shumer (D-NY) currently draft a legalization bill. Paralleling these politicians, two-thirds of Americans, including half of identifying Republicans, support legalization. These developments beg the questions: “Why and how did we illegalize it in the first place? 


Five observations from Duke men's basketball's first half against Florida State

As is often the case, Duke is in a close one against Florida State down in Tallahassee, Fla. The Blue Devils started off with the lead, but the Seminoles came back with an 8-0 run of their own to take their first lead of the game at the 10-minute mark. Despite that, Duke clawed back and holds a 38-33 lead at the half. Here are five of our observations from the first 20 minutes. 








Duke women's tennis has strong singles showing, struggles in doubles in Michigan Invitational

Duke kicked off its spring season this weekend at the Michigan Invitational, squaring off against No. 12 Ohio State, No. 16 Michigan and Notre Dame over three days of match play. The Blue Devils excelled in singles, winning four out of six matchups against Ohio State, all seven of its matches with Notre Dame and two out of three matchups against Michigan.
