The Chronicle's Brian Mazur and Hank Tucker look ahead to Saturday's ACC opener for the Blue Devils against Wake Forest at 3:30 p.m. at revamped Wallace Wade Stadium. Duke is coming off a 49-6 rout of FCS team N.C. Central in Week 1 and hopes to extend its four-game winning streak against the Demon Deacons with road tilts at Northwestern and No. 18 Notre Dame looming.

Following Duke's 49-6 season-opening rout of N.C. Central, our Ben Feder and Sid Bhaskara break down the Blue Devils' performance, highlighted by redshirt freshman Daniel Jones' 217 total yards and three touchdowns. Duke set a record for most points in a single half with 49 in the opening 30 minutes, allowing its starters to rest most of the second half ahead of the team's ACC opener against Wake Forest next week.

Duke is turning to redshirt freshman quarterback Daniel Jones under center and will look to continue its dominance of the Eagles, who play in the FCS and have lost their last two games against the Blue Devils by a combined score of 100-0.

Redshirt senior quarterback Thomas Sirk suffered a significant injury to the left Achilles' tendon he tore in February and will miss the 2016 season due to another surgery, the Durham Herald-Sun's Steve Wiseman reported Friday evening.
