David Soled, president of Duke University Union Campus Concerts, shared his music tastes with The Chronicle. The senior led the group bringing electronic dance music group Cash Cash to the Heatwave concert Friday.

The Chronicle: What was the first concert you went to?

David Soled: The Jonas Brothers concert with my sisters and my parents.

TC: Who is the most underrated artist?

DS: Kesha. She is a lyrical genius.

TC: Which artist can you not stand?

DS: Justin Bieber—like his songs, hate his personality.

TC: What song do you listen to when you need to get excited for something?

DS: “Jumpman” by Drake.

TC: Who is your dream performer to bring to campus?

DS: A Beyonce and Jay Z dual concert featuring Drake.

TC: What’s the best campus concert that you’ve been to?

DS: LDOC 2015 has to be best concert I’ve ever been to. T-Pain and Misterwives.

TC: What’s the best concert you’ve been to in the Triangle area?

DS: Florida Georgia Line with Dierks Bentley. It was unreal. It was outside, great vibes.

TC: What was the last song you listened to?

DS: “Closer” by the Chainsmokers played on repeat.

TC: What was the runner-up for the Heatwave concert?

DS: I’d say Kanye but I don’t think Kanye would ever want to be thought of as a runner-up.

TC: What’s the best and worst thing about Duke?

DS: Best—the people, where they came from, who they are. Worst—the parking.
