The Blue Devils dropped their fourth consecutive game Saturday afternoon, falling to Virginia 42-34 despite an encouraging fourth quarter comeback effort. Heading into the fourth quarter down by three scores, backup quarterback Parker Boehme rallied the team, but a potential game-tying drive was halted on Virginia’s six-yard line. With the loss, the Blue Devils fell to 3-4 in the ACC and will look to finish regular season play on a high note against Wake Forest next weekend.

After suffering a heartbreaking loss last Saturday, Duke was dominated from the opening kick in a 66-31 loss in its annual Tobacco Road rivalry game against North Carolina. The Blue Devils gave up 704 yards of total offense to the Tar Heels and fell behind by 28 points at halftime en route to the crushing defeat. With the loss, Duke fell to 6-3 on the season and 3-2 in the ACC and no longer controls its destiny in the ACC Coastal Division.

Following the team’s introduction at last weekend’s Countdown to Craziness, Duke hosted its annual Blue-White scrimmage at Cameron Indoor Stadium Saturday afternoon. For the first time, the scrimmage featured four 10-minute quarters, with the team playing among themselves for the first three quarters, and teaming up against the scout squad for the final quarter. Returning starters Amber Henson and Rebecca Greenwell and junior transfer Lexie Brown impressed right from the opening tip for their respective teams. The White team surged to a quick 7-2 lead, but the Blue squad came back to win the first quarter 15-14. The White team battled in a sloppy second quarter to win 32-29, and continued on to win a closely-contested third quarter 52-50. Returners Mercedes Riggs, Kendall Cooper, Lyneé Belton and freshman Angela Salvadores were held out of the game with injuries.
