No. 1 Duke fired a school record 277 in the final round of competition, propelling the Blue Devils to their eighth-straight ACC Championship title and proving why Duke is the nation's top team. The day was highlighted by Leigh Anne Hardin's season-best 67 and Liz Janangelo's score of 68, landing her second in individual honors. The Blue Devils dominated all weekend, leading through all three days of the tournament held in Clemmens, N.C., despite Friday's inclement weather.

The men's tennis team won its 53rd straight ACC regular season contest yesterday as it barely sneaked by Clemson 4-3. The win came on the heels of a 5-2 downing of 14th-ranked Georgia Tech (11-5, 3-3) Saturday.

This weekend, the Blue Devils found out for themselves why California colleges have long been known for their powerhouse tennis teams. Following Thursday's 4-3 defeat of Texas, Duke faced No. 1 UCLA and No. 4 California in the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Louisville. The eighth-ranked Blue Devils (6-3) put up an early fight Saturday against Cal (7-1) in the tournament's consolation backdraw, but failed to capitalize on a 3-0 advantage, losing the next four matches. Duke finished the weekend tied for seventh in the tournament.

Chris Duhon's three-point shot from well behind the arc three and a half minutes into the second half sparked Duke's offense and gave the Blue Devils a lead over Georgetown which they held onto for the rest of the game to win 93-86. Just 21 seconds later, he was followed by a J.J. Redick three-point jumper, to begin a 15-1 run.

The men's and women's swimming teams capped off their fall seasons with strong showings at the Patriot Invitational the weekend of Nov. 22-24. The women finished first among over 10 other teams, in the biggest meet of first semester. The men's team took third place in an event in which Duke swimmers won a combined 18 events.
