Coming off a huge 4-2 victory at Virginia Tech last weekend, Duke couldn’t keep up the momentum at home in Koskinen Stadium, losing 2-0 to Notre Dame this past Friday. Once again, the Blue Devils succeeded in maintaining possession, but their forwards and midfielders were unable to capitalize with goals. 

No. 9 Duke rowing wins 5th straight Carolina Cup

No. 9 Duke secured its fifth consecutive Carolina Cup in an impressive victory this past Saturday on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C. This marked the Blue Devils’ first multi-team competition since the last Carolina Cup almost exactly one year prior. Duke won all six events Saturday, earning 90 points and comfortably rowing away with the victory. Clemson placed second with 80 points while North Carolina followed with 70.

As Duke heads into the ACC tournament, it potentially needs to win five games in a row, or at the very least make the championship, to earn a bid into the NCAA Tournament. Clearly, the Blue Devils have some work to do, so someone will need to step up in Greensboro. The Blue Zone gets you ready for the ACC Tournament with a Duke player to look out for and an aspect of the game that the Blue Devils will need to excel at in order to make a run:

It’s officially spring, and that means Duke rowing is back. The team heads into this unprecedented season looking to win its first ACC championship in school history. And although they’ll have to go through perennial powerhouse Virginia, the Blue Devils appear to have a mix of experience and newcomers that’ll make them contenders to finally take home the conference crown.

After three consecutive games in Cameron Indoor Stadium, Duke will head to Atlanta to face off against Georgia Tech for the second time this season Tuesday at 8 p.m. The Yellow Jackets are on a four-game win streak and coming off big victories against No. 22 Virginia Tech and Syracuse, so Duke will have to be ready for a hardfought matchup.
