For the second time this week, the Brotherhood has added a new member.

On Saturday, 2024 four-star center Patrick Ngongba II announced his commitment to Duke via a live YouTube video. The center’s decision gives the Blue Devils a five-man class for next season, with Ngongba being the first big to join the group.

The Fairfax, Va., product continues the recent pipeline from his high school to Durham, joining Trevor Keels, Jeremy Roach and fellow 2024 recruit Darren Harris as players to make the jump from Paul VI Catholic High School to Duke in recent years.

Ngongba was somewhat of a late blip on Duke’s radar, with Scheyer not offering until May 30th of this year. This interest came off of an excellent performance during this summer’s Nike EYBL circuit, where the 6-foot-11 center averaged 12.7 points on 70% shooting, garnering him Second Team regular season honors. In addition, Ngongba finished off the summer on a high note, helping lead Team Takeover along with Harris to a championship at Peach Jam.

With a unique blend of size and skill down low, Ngongba figures to provide an excellent post presence to a team that will likely lose Kyle Filipowski and Ryan Young at the conclusion of the season. The No. 20 recruit, who chose the Blue Devils over Kansas State and Kentucky, joins a class that already features Harris, Isaiah Evans, Kon Knueppel and Cooper Flagg, giving Duke the No. 1 class in the nation.
