As the NFL season moves along, The Blue Zone takes a look at how some former Blue Devils in the NFL performed in Week 3.

Jamison Crowder, WR, Washington

After being hampered by injuries to begin the season, Crowder has improved every week, this Sunday recording six receptions for 52 yards in a primetime showdown against the Oakland Raiders, including a season-high 30-yard catch. Although he has improved his receiving totals, he has had ball security issues, dropping his second fumble in three games on Sunday. Crowder and Washington face an undefeated Chiefs team Monday night for their second primetime game in a row.

Prior to the game, Crowder joined many of his NFL counterparts in taking a knee during the national anthem after President Donald Trump's criticism of NFL players' protests Friday night.

Vincent Rey, LB, Cincinnati Bengals

In another tough week for the Bengals in which they surrendered a late lead to the Packers, Rey had a subpar performance, at least statistically, recording six combined tackles on the day after setting a high bar with 11 combined in each of his first two games. Next week, the winless Bengals take on the winless Browns, so expect Vincent Rey to bounce back to his regular level of performance.

Laken Tomlinson, LG, San Francisco 49ers

In a 41-39 heartbreaking loss against the Los Angeles Rams, Tomlinson and the 49ers offensive line struggled with run blocking, only opening holes enough for starting running back Carlos Hyde and the team to gain an average of just 3.4 yards. They were better in giving quarterback Brian Hoyer time to throw, paving the way for him to throw for a season-high 332 yards, but did give up four sacks. Thus far, Tomlinson hasn't performed at a high level, ranking No. 66 among all NFL guards in Pro Football Focus' rankings.  The 49ers face another strong defense in the Cardinals next week, headed by Chandler Jones, who has four sacks through three games.

Ross Cockrell, CB, New York Giants

Following a game against a talented Lions offense in which Cockrell recorded four tackles and defended one pass, he only recorded one tackle with no passes defended in the Giants’ third straight loss. New York has struggled to keep opposing offenses at bay this season, as quarterbacks have picked apart the secondary, which has yet to record an interception.
