2016 Duke basketball target Sacha Killeya-Jones commits to Virginia

No. 3 Virginia and No. 2 Duke will do battle on the hardwood Jan. 31 in Charlottesville, Va., but the Cavaliers won a recruiting battle New Year's Day.

2016 forward Sacha Killeya-Jones announced on Twitter that he has committed to Virginia and head coach Tony Bennett Thursday afternoon.

The 6-foot-10 forward never received an actual offer from the Blue Devils, but Duke's coaches had been watching him closely recently and the Chapel Hill, N.C., native who attends the Virginia Episcopal School took unofficial visits to Durham twice.

The biggest other programs that offered Killeya-Jones were Georgetown and Notre Dame.

The Blue Devils still have their eyes on plenty of 2016 targets, including forwards Harry Giles and Jayson Tatum and point guard Dennis Smith, Jr.
