Early this morning, two endorsement letters for Duke Student Government president were published this morning on our website that should not have been published. The two letters were received after our 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 10 deadline, stated in our endorsement policy. Although they were not published in print, the Chronicle editor who posts content onto the website Tuesday nights published those two endorsements in addition to the others that were received by deadline. The letters were removed from the site by 11:00 a.m. this morning. To give full disclosure, the Chronicle editor in question is also the DSG attorney general for the 2011-2012 academic year.
The Chronicle takes full responsibility for this policy violation and apologizes to the groups who abided by our policy and were affected by this violation.
