A potential Butler-Duke rematch?

After the two teams' epic championship clash Monday when Duke escaped with its fourth national title in program history, Butler head coach Brad Stevens has expressed interest in facing the Blue Devils once more, this time during the regular season.

The Bulldogs 2010-2011 schedule is not yet finalized, and Stevens is eager to add quality nonconference opponents like Duke to beef up a relatively weak Horizon League slate. Butler played NCAA Tournament teams Ohio State, Xavier, Clemson, Minnesota and Georgetown before breezing through its conference this season, en route to a 25-game winning streak that ended in the national championship game.

"I think very few people want to play Duke, but if you have to play Duke in the national championship, you'll take it," Stevens said to ESPN Friday.

The two teams would presumably agree to two home-and-home dates, and the Blue Devils already experienced playing in front of a very-pro Butler crowd at Lucas Oil Stadium.
