Tar Heels Upset By College of Charleston

Suddenly, Duke's loss on the road to a good Wisconsin team doesn't look so bad.

The Blue Devils' biggest rival, North Carolina, had already lost three times this year before Sunday, but all three defeats had been to nationally ranked clubs. Sunday, though, the Tar Heels got bit by the upset bug, and bad.

Despite leading by 11 points with four minutes left, North Carolina (11-4) lost to the College of Charleston on the road in overtime, 82-79. The Cougars (8-6) aren't a terrible team, but when was the last time any team defeated North Carolina but lost to Coastal Carolina in the same season the way Charleston has now done? Kudos to the Tar Heels for being willing to play at Charleston, but this series might be over after this one.

What do you think the upset means for North Carolina's hopes of challenging Duke in the ACC? And what does it say about Duke that the Blue Devils managed to avoid any early-season upsets (although, Duke didn't go on the road for this kind of game like the Tar Heels did)?
