Conner Vernon Named Freshman All-American

Vernon set school single-season records for pass receptions (55), receiving yards (746) and 100-yard receiving games (3) by a freshman in 2009.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound is a Miami, Fl. native and was consistently one of quarterback Thaddeus Lewis' favorite targets. Vernon scored three touchdowns on the season, including a crucial 42-yard score that put the Blue Devils up 18-17 against Virginia on Oct. 31.

Vernon was also placed on the The Sporting News Freshman All-ACC team along with offensive guard Brian Moore and running back Desmond Scott, who earned a spot on the team as a kick returner.
