Cutcliffe Announces Richmond Game Captains

vince

Head coach David Cutcliffe announced his four captains for Duke's season opener Saturday against Richmond, and big surprise: they're four of Duke's nine seniors and perhaps the four players with the most expected of them this season.

Quarterback Thaddeus Lewis, running back Re'quan Boyette, linebacker Vincent Rey and defensive tackle Vince Oghobaase will lead the Blue Devils out of the tunnel Saturday. All are seniors, and Boyette is a fifth-year senior after missing last season with a serious knee injury.

Oghobaase is a potential first-day pick at the NFL Draft, and Rey is tasked with replacing linebacker Mike Tauiliili, Duke's team leader in tackles last season. On offense, Lewis is entering his fourth year as a starter, and Boyette anchors a running game that will also utilize younger players Jay Hollingsworth and Desmond Scott.
