Boynton Chooses Florida Over Duke

Kenny Boynton, scout.com's No. 2 shooting guard in the Class of 2009, committed to Florida Thursday, spurning an offer from Duke before he was scheduled to visit next weekend.

The five-star prospect considered Duke, Texas, Florida and Georgia Tech, but visited head coach Billy Donovan's program in Gainesville, Fla. last weekend and announced his intentions on ESPNU.

If Boynton committed to Duke, he would join five-stars Mason Plumlee and Ryan Kelly in its incoming recruiting class. The Blue Devils have already locked up commitments from Class of 2010 recruits Andre Dawkins, Tyler Thornton and Josh Hairston.

Head coach Mike Krzyzewski's program is still actively recruiting Boynton's AAU teammate Brandon Knight, the No. 1 point guard in the Class of 2010.
