Junior guard Rasheed Sulaimon was dismissed from the Blue Devil basketball program Thursday—becoming the first player head coach Mike Krzyzewski has ever kicked off the team—so we take a look at notable events from the Houston native's past that could have contributed to the decision. We also look at Sulaimon's best moments on the court, most of which came during his standout freshman 2012-13 season.

Team sources said the dismissal was a buildup of issues throughout Sulaimon's time at Duke and was not the result of a single incident.

  • Feb. 13, 2013: Sulaimon plays 38 minutes and scores 13 points in No. 2 Duke's emotional 73-68 win against rival North Carolina at home. A memorable moment with Sulaimon hitting a clutch triple and celebrating with Quinn Cook comes out of the contest.
  • Feb. 24, 2013: The explosive guard scores a career-high 27 points on 10-of-15 shooting, including 3-of-5 from 3-point range, as the No. 6 Blue Devils knock off Boston College 89-68.
  • August, 2013: After enjoying a standout freshman campaign in which he averaged 11.6 points per game and was an ACC All-Freshman performer, Sulaimon reportedly returned to Duke out of shape after the summer despite competing in the FIBA U19 World Championships. He eventually lose his starting role and become a reserve for a team that failed to live up to its potential. Sulaimon would start 17 games as a sophomore after starting 33 as a freshman.
  • Dec. 3, 2013: Sulaimon hits one of the many low points of his career with the Blue Devils, failing to earn any playing time in Duke's 79-69 win against Michigan in a primetime Big Ten/ACC Challenge matchup at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Krzyzewski would go on to say that Sulaimon was not in the "dog house," just that the 6-foot-5 guard had not been playing well.
  • Jan. 13, 2014: Sulaimon helps Duke get to 2-2 in ACC play with a 21-point performance on 7-of-11 shooting, including 4-of-5 from 3-point range, to lead the Blue Devils past Virginia 69-65. Sulaimon got a friendly roll on a late 3-pointer to spark the dramatic win.
  • Feb. 1, 2014: Sulaimon hits another late, dramatic triple, this time at the Carrier Dome with Duke down by three at the end of regulation at No. 2 Syracuse to send the game into overtime. The former McDonald's All-American made one of the plays of the year by racing up the court, rising and knocking down a crowd-silencing triple.
  • Dec. 15, 2014: Late in Duke's contest against Elon, Sulaimon picks up the Blue Devils' first technical foul of the season by shoving Phoenix guard Luke Eddy hard to the ground after Eddy was already on his way down. The Blue Devils already had the game in hand when the foul occurred. Sulaimon also picked up a notable technical foul in the 2014 ACC championship game against Virginia March 16, 2014.
  • Jan. 28-29, 2015: After rumors of Sulaimon being kicked out of practices this year and other rumors swirling, an apparent issue that caused the last straw occurs during Duke's road trip to South Bend, Ind., for its contest at No. 8 Notre Dame and Sulaimon is dismissed from the team.
