Fred Goldsmith took Duke to the Hall-of-Fame Bowl in his initial season with the Blue Devils, but after four years of losing and a major scandal, he was let go. In 2001 Goldsmith took coaching job at Franklin High School and has led his team to a 29-7 record in three season.

Chris Duhon represents everything good about Duke basketball. He is a tough-nosed defender with an enthusiasm and intelligence for the game that is synonymous with Blue Devil hoops. He has won a national championship, been named first-team All-ACC, and been one of the select few of head coach Mike Krzyzewski's players to captain more than one squad. The being said, Duhon's jersey in no way deserves to hang from Cameron's rafters.
