After a successful opening weekend, the Blue Devils will take their high-flying offense down south to face the defending national champions in the first marquee matchup of the lacrosse season.
The Blue Devils have not competed since a disappointing loss to Ohio State in the first round of the NCAA tournament last May, ending their bid for a third straight NCAA title. That loss has been in the back of the team’s mind all offseason during six months of lifting and workouts, and on Friday night, Duke can start fresh with only one thing on its mind—a national championship.

Duke rounded out its trip to the Big Apple with an 86-84 win against Georgetown in the title game of the 2K Classic at Madison Square Garden. Freshman Derryck Thornton followed up his breakout performance against Virginia Commonwealth with 14 points of his own.
