Duke women's basketball escapes Columbia with contested road win behind Mair, Brown heroics

(11/15/23 2:27am)

NEW YORK—Duke head coach Kara Lawson prides herself on a slow-moving, defensive-centric gameplan. A trip into the Lions’ den sparked the opposite: a fast-paced, end-to-end battle. In the end, the Blue Devils barely escaped with a 66-62 victory thanks to a clutch two-point jumper from sophomore guard Ashlon Jackson with 17.1 seconds left.

Duke wrestling struggles on West Coast trip, drops contests to Cal Poly, Rutgers, Stanford

(11/06/23 10:20pm)

Duke won just two out of its 30 matches in its West Coast trip last weekend, falling in duels to No. 15 Rutgers 47-0 and Cal Poly 38-6 Friday, and Stanford 41-0 Saturday. Over the course of 48 hours, the Blue Devils fell victim to 13 technical falls, when a match is stopped due to lopsided score, and four pins.

'The place for me': Graduate transfer Camilla Emsbo brings leadership, experience to Duke women's basketball

(11/04/23 3:59am)

Camilla Emsbo sits down in a Duke-branded chair. Five-hundred-and-sixty-eight miles south of Yale in her new home, hair pulled back into a long blonde ponytail, clad in a Duke-blue sweatshirt, Emsbo smiles.

Duke women's soccer 2023 season preview

(08/17/23 6:26am)

Last season, Duke had the makings of a College Cup-bound team — immense talent, steadfast teamwork and unrivaled determination. With a 15-5-3 overall record and one of the best strikers in the country with Michelle Cooper, it seemed as though head coach Robbie Church’s squad might hoist a trophy. A berth to the biggest event in college soccer, however, proved out of reach. Once more losing in the NCAA quarterfinals, the Blue Devils exited the road to a national championship in a double-overtime loss to No. 3 Alabama.
