Vice President Kamala Harris visits Durham to speak on Ukraine, labor unions

Vice President Kamala Harris stopped by Durham to speak to a crowd at Durham Technical Community College on Wednesday. During her 12-minute address, Harris pledged solidarity to Ukraine and spoke on the Biden-Harris administration’s plans to create higher paying jobs for Americans. 




Why Panhellenic sorority rush was held virtually, while non-Greek selective living group rush was largely in person

Both the Greek and non-Greek selective living group rush processes took place earlier this semester for sophomores and juniors. However, non-Greek SLG rush was mostly in-person, while rush for Duke’s Panhellenic sororities rushed completely virtually.


How does Pratt consider diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives when choosing its deans?

The Pratt School of Engineering has had 11 deans in their 82-year history. Only one—Kristina M. Johnson in 1999—has been female, and only one—Ravi Bellamkonda, who left Duke in July—has been a person of color.
