Duke men's basketball 2018-19 player preview: Cam Reddish

(10/31/18 2:38pm)

Game Breakdown: There is a reason Reddish is coming into Durham as the No. 3 overall recruit in his class, behind only teammates R.J. Barrett and Zion Williamson. The Norristown, Pa. native is an elite scorer, both one-on-one and catch-and-shoot, and is terrific at drawing fouls and getting to the free-throw line. Furthermore, the McDonald’s All-American has the physical tools to defend virtually anyone in the country. Overall, many scouts actually label Reddish as having the most pure basketball talent out of Duke’s top three freshmen, but with that talent comes causes of concern as well.

Duke women’s basketball 2018-19 player preview: Jade Williams

(10/31/18 2:28pm)

Game Breakdown: The No. 14 overall prospect in the Class of 2017, Williams is one of the more talented young bigs in the ACC. Her greatest strength is her presence on defense—despite placing just sixth on the team in minutes last year, the 2017-18 All-ACC Freshman Team selection led the Blue Devils in blocks. Offensively, Williams will not be a threat from downtown—she missed her lone three-point attempt last season. But the faceup-five has a keen ability to finish inside and a mid-range shooting touch that forces defenders to keep an eye on her at all times.

Extra Point vs. Virginia: Duke loses control early, drops second consecutive home matchup

(10/21/18 9:13pm)

The Blue Devils were able to rebound from a tough loss against Virginia Tech with a great road win at Georgia Tech last week, giving hope that the dream of an ACC Coastal title may still be alive. Sadly, hopes of a berth in the ACC Championship Game all are all but dead now, as Duke proved unable to fend off its second-straight foe from the state of Virginia. The Blue Zone gives three key takeaways and stats and looks forward for the Blue Devils:

Extra Point vs. Georgia Tech: Duke rebounds from Virginia Tech loss with first ACC win of the year

(10/14/18 11:27pm)

Following an extremely disappointing home loss against Virginia Tech, many thought the Blue Devils’ football season was over and it was time to move forward to basketball in Durham. But Duke recovered with a huge road win at Georgia Tech, showing that the team is not ready to give up on itself just yet.
