Duke started its quest for its fifth national championship with a bang against Princeton Sunday night in Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Blue Devils defeated the Tigers 97-60 and showed that this year’s group may be more dynamic than the reigning national championship team.

Jahlil Okafor: Okafor is the premiere player in the 2014 recruiting class. As the final seconds ticked away this past Saturday in Duke’s win against Miami, the talk of the town was the legendary performance of senior Ryan Kelly. But the win Kelly gave Duke also put one Cameron Crazie on the edge of a milestone: It was the 99th win this Crazie had seen in Cameron Indoor Stadium as a student.
It seems as if Duke has improved in all facets of the game since last season, but there appears to be one most improved area: Defense.
There were a number of reasons why the 2011-12 Duke basketball team struggled to a disappointing finish, and one of them was especially surprising for a team under head coach Mike Krzyzewski. The Blue Devils sported one of the worst defenses in the ACC last season, and also one of the worst by any Krzyzewski-coached squad.
A year ago, Duke was upset by Wake Forest in the ACC tournament. The Blue Devils then went on to reach their first ever NCAA title game, falling to Stanford 1-0.
Often the first piece of equipment associated with running, aside from shoes, is the treadmill. This past April, the cross-country program invested a large sum of money into this very piece of equipment.
