Law student spills on interplay between school and real-world work

Third year law student Robby Naoufal will be interning at the White House next summer. In the past, he has worked as a law clerk at the U.S. Department of Justice and is currently in Washington, D.C. as an associate at Hughes Hubbard and Reed LLP, an international law firm. The Chronicle’s Rebecca Chen chatted with Naoufal about the path that led him to the White House internship and what he looks forward to in the future.

____simple_html_dom__voku__html_wrapper____>The morning of Eid-al-fitr, freshman Ahmed Noor’s family celebrates by making sheer korma, a sweet stew made of Indian vermicelli, condensed milk, almonds, dates and raisins. Eid-al-fitr, one of three major holidays celebrated in Islamic culture, occurs at the end of the holy month of Ramadan, during which Muslims fast from sunup to sundown. The second Eid holiday—Eid-al-adha—marks the end of hajj, the pilgrimage to Mecca that Muslims must complete sometime in their lives. While the third, somewhat contested holiday commemorates the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.

On West Campus, Perkins Library is a hub for studying. And one of the most unique places to study in Perkins is the Link. Located on the lower level of Perkins, the Link offers a variety of resources, including study booths, 11 group study rooms for collaborative work and a multitude of computer kiosks and armchairs designed for independent studying.
