Duke football is back in action Saturday in Durham against North Carolina A&T. The Blue Devils, with ACC play just around the corner, will look to extend their record to 3-0, which hasn’t been done since 2018. Head coach Mike Elko’s squad is the clear favorite against the Aggies, and they’ll bring momentum from last week’s victory on the road against Northwestern as well as the support from fans in Wallace Wade Stadium, which is already sold out for Saturday. Will the beginning of the Elko era continue to impress? Let’s take a look at Aggie head coach Sam Washington’s team from Greensboro in order to get an idea.

Duke teed off Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for the three-round NCAA Columbus Regional and finished with a final score of 867 (+15), putting the Blue Devils in eighth place. This result for head coach Jamie Green's squad, unfortunately for Duke, doesn't grant the team a visit to Scottsdale, Ariz., for the NCAA Championship, as the Blue Devils would have needed to finish in the top five to advance. This means that Duke’s spring season has officially come to an end after it battled the difficult Scarlet Course at Ohio State.

Duke had a mediocre start to its spring season, tying for seventh place in the Arizona Intercollegiate tournament. The three-round competition was in Tucson, Arizona Monday and Tuesday where 14 competitive programs were invited to tee off. Two full rounds were originally scheduled for Monday, but an excess amount of darkness caused the second round to be finished on Tuesday.

An intense, action-packed spring season is now upon us as, Duke heads down to the Arizona Intercollegiate for its first tournament of the year. The Blue Devils are currently ranked No. 43 in the country, but head coach Jamie Green and his squad have a lot of potential to boost this ranking. This year, Duke has added three talented freshmen—Kelly Chinn, Luke Sample and John Peters—to its experienced team. Led by sophomore Ian Siebers, the Blue Devils performed well in their handful of fall tournaments. It will be interesting to see how Duke’s young talent mixes in with the older guys.

Duke has had some impressive wins thus far. The Blue Devils are now 7-0 and have taken down Kentucky and Gonzaga, which were ranked at No. 10 and No. 1, respectively, at the time of the games. The Blue Devils have been solid both defensively and offensively, beating their opponents by an average of 21 points, but there’s one caveat that concerns these successes: Duke has not played a true road game. Yes, their hard-fought wins against their ranked opponents were in New York and Las Vegas—but Duke fans travel well.
