Injury Report: Duke football vs. Virginia Tech

Even after the bye week, the Blue Devils are banged up with injuries, including several to some key contributors on both sides of the ball. No. 23 Duke will head to Blacksburg, Va., to take on Virginia Tech Saturday at 3:30 p.m., and released its weekly injury report Thursday:

PROBABLE

TE Dan Beilinson (leg)

WR T.J. Rahming (leg)

OUT

DE Kyler Brown (leg)

WR Trevon Lee (lower body)

OG Cody Robinson (upper body)

WR Chris Taylor (lower body)

OUT FOR SEASON

LB Kelby Brown (leg)

CB Bryon Fields (leg)

DT Zach Morris (leg)

DE Taariq Shabazz (leg)

Breakdown: Rahming missed the Army game due to injury, but head coach David Cutcliffe said during his weekly press conference Tuesday that the freshman speedster was practicing, an encouraging sign for the Blue Devils heading into Saturday's game. The rest of the wide receiving corps is not so lucky, as redshirt freshmen Trevon Lee and Chris Taylor will be sidelined due to lower body injuries. The injuries could mean an immediate role for redshirt sophomore Terrance Alls, who Cutcliffe reinstated this week after a suspension from game competition dating back to March.

Brown was hurt in the third quarter of Duke's 44-3 rout of Army leading into the bye week. The redshirt senior defensive end had been enjoying a strong start to the year, but the leg injury will keep him off the field, continuing an unfortunate string of injuries for the Brown family. Kelby Brown tore his ACL prior to the start of the regular season, ending his year before it began for the second consecutive season.

After missing the last several games, Beilinson is listed as probable, but offensive guard Cody Robinson will miss his fifth consecutive game with an upper body injury.

Stay tuned to the Blue Zone for all your pregame and postgame coverage from Saturday's game in Blacksburg, where Duke will look to become bowl-eligible for the fourth consecutive season.
