Report: Semi Ojeleye to transfer to Southern Methodist

Semi Ojeleye may have a new home.

Two weeks after it was announced that the sophomore would not return to Duke for the spring semester, Ojeleye has reportedly committed to Southern Methodist and head coach Larry Brown. The news was first reported by Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports Saturday afternoon.

ESPN's Jeff Goodman reported Sunday afternoon that Ojeleye confirmed to him that the report was true.

The 6-foot-7 forward will be eligible to play for the Mustangs next December and will have two-and-a-half years of eligibility remaining. In limited action for the Blue Devils this season, Ojeleye was averaging 3.0 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.

Southern Methodist officials did not immediately return an email seeking comment Saturday night.

The Mustangs are off to an 8-3 start this season and will be one of the favorites this year in the American Athletic Conference. Brown's team will lose six seniors following the conclusion of the season, meaning Ojeleye may have a chance to work his way into the rotation when he becomes eligible next December.

Alex Murphy—who transferred to Florida from Duke last winter—scored nine points in 27 minutes Dec. 20 against Wake Forest in his debut for the Gators.
