Duke 49, UConn 79 (End of second half)

Duke unable to hold UConn in check in the second half.  The Huskies ran away with the game with defensive intensity and offensive proficiency.  The crowd played an integral role in the game for UConn pushing the team forward.  This combination of factors gave the Huskies the win.

Duke 48, UConn 79 (53.0, second half)

The offensive woes continue for Duke.  The Huskies have outperformed the Blue Devils on both ends of the court.  UConn has put their entire bench into the game that still continues to score with a three for Breanna Stewart.

Duke 48, UConn 74 (3:40, second half)

Duke has been unable to rally even with UConn's scoring pace slowed.  The full court pressure has damaged the Blue Devils' offensive gameplan and given them very few opportunities.  UConn continues to hold a 26 point lead.

Duke 42, UConn 67 (6:45, second half)

Duke has dropped into a zone defense hoping to slow the Huskies momentum, but UConn continue to get open shots and hit them.  The Blue Devils have had trouble on offense moving the ball and getting open shots.  Chloe Wells hit a three to stop the UConn run, but the Huskies continue to score and the Blue Devils continue to turn the ball over.  The game has gotten out of hand for Duke as Geno Auriemma has started to cycle in his bench into the lineup.  Timeout UConn

Duke 39, UConn 60 (10:00, second half)

UConn commanding the game in the second half on both sides of the ball.  The Blue Devils continue to suffer on the offensive end and in rebounding the ball.  Elizabeth Williams is the sole threat for Duke.  The Huskies ball movement and offensive scheme are pulling apart the Duke defense.  After a foul and free throw attempt rebounded by Breanna Stewart and put back in for an easy layup, Duke is down 21.

Duke 37, UConn 54 (11:55, second half)

UConn's full court press is hampering Duke's offense.  Not Much ball movement for the Blue Devils leading to bad offensive possessions.  The Huskies continue to score even with the tight Duke defense.  The game is getting out of hand for the Blue Devils who continue to miss open scoring chances and commit turnovers.  Alexis Jones back in the game for Duke.  Timeout on the floor.

Duke 37, UConn 47 (15:05, second half)

Duke's offensive struggles lead to a frustration foul for Alexis Jones who has been a big presence for the Blue Devils.  Jones now has four fouls and returns to the bench.  Timeout on the floor.

Duke 37, UConn 47 ( 15:26, second half)

Duke unable to convert on the offensive end as the Huskies continue to take advantage.  Easy layups for UConn on offense.  Chloe Wells hits a big three from the corner to stifle the UConn run.  Duke is overpowered on the offensive end and the Huskies continue to score unabated.  The crowd is into the game and UConn is pulling away. Duke 32, UConn 39 (17:39, second half)

Duke has the ball to begin the half.  The Connecticut crowd has come alive in support of the Huskies as Kelly Faris hit the first shot of the half on a layup.  Duke is playing well but not converting easy shot attempts.  UConn out to a quick 7 point advantage.  Fouls and turnovers hurting Duke giving the Huskies easy transition baskets. Timeout Duke

Duke 30, UConn 32 (halftime)

Off the timeout, Elizabeth Williams earns an and-1 opportunity off a layout and sinks the free throw with 26 seconds remaining in the half.  Timeout for UConn with 20 seconds on the clock.

Off the timeout, Mosqueda-Lewis misses a three point attempt. Moriah Jefferson snags the rebound and is fouled while shooting.  Jefferson hits one of two and Duke's Chloe Wells misses the final shot of the half.

Duke 27, UConn 31 (50.4, first half)

Back and forth game.  Defenses ruling the play with both teams stifled on the offensive end.  Big block for Elizabeth Williams with 2:34 left to force a shot clock violation for UConn.  On the subsequent possession, Alexis Jones is fouled by Moriah Jefferson on the floor. Off a Richa Jackson blocked shot, Jefferson scores an easy layup.  Duke responds with a three pointer from Haley Peters putting the Blue Devils within one.  Turnovers plaguing both teams so far.  UConn's Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis hits a three with 50.4 left in the half with the shot clock waning.  Duke timeout.

Duke 25, UConn 26 (3:50 first half)

Missed shots have marked the past couple possessions with two missed three point attempts for UConn and multiple fall calls on Duke.  Alexis Jones defensive effort earns a steal with 6:13 left to break the scoring drought for Duke with a layup for Elizabeth Williams.  The Huskies respond with a quick layup for Kelly Faris.  After an unsuccessful shot attempt for Chelsea Gray, Bria Hartley drove to the basket for the Huskies and sunk an easy layup.  Duke responded with a three for Haley Peters who tied the game at 23.  Hartley, feeling the energy, drained an open three early in the shot clock for UConn putting the Blue Devils down three.  Alexis Jones fouled with 4:30 remaining and sinks a pair of free throws to put Duke within one.  Off the free throws, the Blue Devils full court press forces the Huskies to rush and nearly turn the ball over.  Jump ball to UConn and in the subsequent possession Breanna Stewart travels giving Duke possession.  The Blue Devils maintain possession after a blocked shot with 3:50 left in the half, Uconn holds a one point lead. Timeout on the floor.

Duke 18, UConn 18 (7:46 first half)

Haley Peters tied the game at 18 with 9 minutes left in the half and after a pair of free throws for Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis, Duke is down 19-18 with 7:46 left in the first half. The Blue Devils have matched the Huskies' intensity on the boards and on the defensive end holding the prolific UConn offense to merely 19 points thus far.  Both teams have missed easy shot opportunities and have failed to convert on open shots from beyond the arc.

The game has largely been a back and forth contest thus far. The rowdy Connecticut fans have brought the energy for the Huskies. Duke has used a seven person rotation thus far and has answered every small UConn run.
