Duke basketball up to No. 2 in the AP Poll

Duke basketball isn't No. 1 in the AP Poll, but the Blue Devils are making some noise.

After entering the Battle 4 Atlantis ranked No. 5, the Blue Devils begin this week as the No. 2 team in the AP Top 25 Poll, still behind No. 1. Indiana, which remains undefeated at 6-0. Head coach Mike Krzyzewski's team received 18 first place votes, and Indiana received 47. The Hoosiers were the preseason No. 1 team and have not moved since then.

Duke, also 6-0 on the season, owns high-profile wins against then-No. 3 Kentucky and then-No. 2 Louisville, while the Hoosiers' most notable win is against a then-unranked Georgetown squad. Kentucky and Louisville are currently ranked No. 8 and No. 5, respectively, and Georgetown makes its first appearance in the rankings this week at No. 20.

The Blue Devils have another chance to add to their impressive resume when they face No. 4 Ohio State this week in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The Hoosiers, meanwhile, host No. 14 North Carolina Tuesday night.

The complete top 10 in the rankings: Indiana, Duke, Michigan, Ohio State, Louisville, Syracuse, Florida, Kentucky, Arizona, Kansas.

The Blue Devils are also No. 2 behind Indiana in the USA Today/Coaches' Poll.
