In his first game for the United States U18 team, incoming freshman guard Rasheed Sulaimon put in 12 points on five of eight shooting as the United States knocked off the Virgin Islands by a score of 105-42.
Sulaimon put together a well rounded game in his 24 minutes of action. In addition to his 12 points, Sulaimon added five rebounds, three assists, a three pointer, a block, and a steal. The blemish in Sulaimon's box score was his 1-3 performance at the free throw line, an issue most of the Americans struggled with, as the team missed 22 free throws in the game. Only Nathaniel Britt, committed to North Carolina for the 2013 season, played more minutes.
William 'Shaq' Goodwin, committed to Memphis, led the United States with 30 points with Jarnell Stokes, committed to Tennessee, adding 19 of his own. Sulaimon and the United States take on Mexico tomorrow.
