Lance Thomas named to USA Select Team

Former Duke forward Lance Thomas will join the NBA's rising young stars when he scrimmages against Team USA July 5-12 in Las Vegas as Mike Krzyzewski's team prepares for the Olympics.

Lance Thomas signed a pair of 10-Day contracts with the New Orleans Hornets last season and wound up being signed for the rest of the season. Thomas logged 42 games, including 10 starts for the injury ravaged Hornets, scoring 4.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game.

Thomas will be joined on the USA Select Team by reigning Rookie of the Year Kyrie Irving, Most Improved Player of the Year Ryan Anderson, and old Duke nemesis Gordon Hayward. His week in Vegas should provide Thomas with invaluable experience playing with and against the best players in the game.
