Duke to Headline CBE Classic

Duke's traditional pre-season tournament will take the Blue Devils to Kansas City this fall.

It was announced today that Duke, Gonzaga, Marquette, and Kansas State will be the regional hosts of the CBE Classic, and all four with by default make the trip to Kansas City for the finals. In its regional, the Blue Devils will face either Princeton or Miami of Ohio.

While the format of the CBE Classic is odd, at best, it offers Duke a chance for two marquee early season tests (without fear of any of those pesky upsets that make college basketball such a boring, dull sport to watch).  All three fellow CBE regional hosts were NCAA Tournament teams last season, and Kansas State will surely be in the preseason Top 10 with returning star guard Jacob Pullen.
