Duke Nemesis Toliver Comes To Cameron For Last Time

To even the most casual Duke fan, the name Kristi Toliver must sound familiar. Back in 2006, it was the 5-foot-7 Toliver's 3-pointer over 6-foot-7 Alison Bales that forced overtime in the national championship, which the Terrapins went on to win.

Then, when the teams faced off in Cameron Indoor Stadium last season, it didn't matter that Toliver committed a career-high 12 turnovers. Her 3-point prowess once again led Maryland to victory, prompting Abby Waner to say, "I'm really sick of Toliver's threes."

With Toliver and the Terrapins returning to Cameron on Monday, the battle between Waner and Toliver should be one of the key matchups to watch. Both guards are deadly from long distance: Toliver ranks eighth all time in the ACC with 237 three pointers made, while Waner follows close behind with 187 of her own, good for 20th on the list.

If the Blue Devils hope to retake control of this fierce rivalry, limiting their old nemesis may not be a bad place to start.
