Arts Discovery Card lowers prive of student admission

From staff reports

Arts events do not have to be expensive.

The arts discovery card, new to the 1993-94 school year will enable students to pay low rates for tickets to all sorts of musical, dramatic and dance performances on campus.

The purchase of a $40 arts discovery card will allow the holder to attend a choice of ten different events from an approved list of diverse performances. This list includes Artists Series performances by Mark Morris and the Boys Choir of Harlem, North Carolina Symphony concerts, jazz events, New Directions performances and Living Traditions music and dance productions.

Ordinarily tickets to these events would cost anywhere from six to twenty-one dollars. With the purchase of the discovery card, the price per event would be reduced to $4.

The card, which was a joint project by the office of University life, the Institute of the Arts, the office of student affairs and Trinity college, will be on sale for only four days, Tuesday, Sept. 7 through Friday, Sept. 10.
