The Duke women pulled off several upsets this weekend to close out 5-1. While the men were not able to come away with a winning record, their strength and determination were still on full display.
Duke kicked off its 2023-24 season this weekend at the Temple Open in Philadelphia, with both the men’s and the women’s teams entered the tournament ranked No. 9 in the nation. This weekend saw particularly impressive showings from the newest additions to the teams, as well as senior captain Christina Ferrari.
Despite Duke falling to the Wolfpack and Bulldogs on both sides of the meet, Friday night saw several inspired swims from the women and an overall impressive performance from the men.
With a new head coach and a freshman class of fencers ready to make their mark on the program, the team looks to extend its impressive postseason streak for yet another year.
