Because of these issues—a writer using The Chronicle to promote an event they were hosting with their organization—the article was removed from The Chronicle’s website.
In 2020, we titled our send-home paper Resilient, and we were right. Sure, times are unprecedented, but the ability of the Duke community to adapt, to graduate, to triumph, to come together, to be resilient, no matter the circumstances—that is precedented.

The Chronicle has not always upheld the standards of equity and inclusivity that we hope to achieve, but we are committed to improving our practices.
This partnership between The Bridge and The Chronicle was born from a desire to make the silenced and hidden perspectives of underrepresented Duke communities apparent.

When Duke announced classes were moving online, I knew it meant an end to impassioned discussions over meals at the Brodhead Center, cheering on the basketball team at watch parties and late nights in The Chronicle’s office at 301 Flowers. But as a student journalist, I knew the most important part of my time at Duke had just begun.
On LDOC my sophomore year, I officially became Volume 115’s editor-in-chief… and I was terrified.
