Fuqua dean spearheaded open letter to Trump administration for immigration reform

The letter emphasized the threats posed to the American economy due to current administrative policies reducing the number of high-skilled immigrants entering the country. Fifty business school deans and thirteen CEOs signed the letter. “We do not believe the U.S. has the high-skill talent it needs, nor does it have the capacity to train enough people with those skills,” the letter explained. “Without a substantial change in our approach, this deficit of skills will hinder economic growth.”

A guide to the Durham city council and mayor candidates for Tuesday's municipal election

The 2019 Durham Municipal Election is today.  Today, Durham voters will head to the polls to cast ballots for candidates running for mayor and three at-large seats on the City Council, as well as a referendum on a $95 million bond for affordable housing. Former Sanford Board member and Duke donor is at center of Trump impeachment inquiry

Gordon Sondland, U.S. ambassador to the European Union, testified Oct. 17 about the ongoing impeachment inquiry into Trump’s effort to get the Ukranian government to open an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden, a leading Democratic presidential candidate. He also has connections to Duke—he sat on the Sanford Board of Visitors from 2017 until 2018, and a foundation he and his wife founded has donated $1.7 million to Duke.
