In a double-overtime thriller last Saturday, Duke lost a heartbreaker, surrendering the Victory Bell once again to rival North Carolina to move to 6-4 on the season. Now, the Blue Devils will look to close out the season strong in order to finish 8-4, an identical record to last year. The first step of that mission is a road trip to Charlottesville, Va., as Duke will travel to face Virginia Saturday.

As of fall 2022, graduate students made up over 60% of Duke’s student body. Across campus, Duke’s graduate students are involved in a wide variety of organizations and activities, from the Duke Quantitative Finance Club to the Economic Masters’ Student Council.



Gov. Roy Cooper sues NC General Assembly over new state elections laws

Legislators in the North Carolina General Assembly recently overturned Gov. Roy Cooper’s veto on new election regulations. Cooper has since sued the Republican heads of the legislative body in response, setting up a battle with results that will likely affect the 2024 presidential elections.


New caps on Duke-approved programs are elitist

Upon reading about the new 50-student cap on each Duke-approved program and the six-student cap on petition programs, we are incredibly disappointed. Studying abroad is meant to be a time of self-discovery, and this restriction not only adds stress to the student body but also promotes an elitist socioeconomic culture and a Western superiority complex.

CHICAGO—It was a slow, and messy, start from both sides, but No. 9 Duke and No. 18 Michigan State kept it close through the first half. A 12-2 run to close the half helped the Blue Devils build a 31-20 lead with 20 minutes to play.
