Coming off a successful 2018 season that included a victory in the Independence Bowl, the Blue Devils begin another campaign on Saturday with a trip to Atlanta in a matchup with No. 2 Alabama. Quentin Harris will be making his first appearance as QB1 after starting two games last year, and the new look offense will have a tough first test against the Crimson Tide.  A lot of buzz has surrounded the Duke football program in recent months, as three-year starting quarterback Daniel Jones was selected with the sixth overall pick in April’s NFL Draft and the Blue Devils will open the season against No. 2 Alabama. Despite the headlines, Duke could be due for a disappointing fall, with a tough schedule and significant personnel losses in tow. Ever since he snatched the ball out of Kentucky center Nick Richards’ hands and took off full speed to deliver a perfectly placed bounce pass to teammate R.J. Barrett for the hoop and the harm, there’s been little doubt about who would be the first name off the board when the time came in June. At least now for Zion Williamson though, it’s official.
