NEW YORK—With 4:35 remaining in the first half, the Blue Devils executed one of their best possessions of the game, whipping the ball from side to side until sophomore Luke Kennard hit forward Amile Jefferson under the rim for an easy dunk.

After relying on a guard-heavy lineup for most of the season, the Blue Devils opted for a bigger front line Saturday with freshman Jayson Tatum returning from his foot sprain and guards Frank Jackson and Grayson Allen sitting due to ailments of their own.

Even after the Blue Devils came away with a hard-fought 78-69 win in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, Duke faces numerous questions about the health of its roster. The Blue Devils utilized a six-man rotation once again Tuesday but will need to get healthy in the month of December with a brutal conference slate starting New Year's Eve.

Despite playing their third game in the last six days and relying on their starters to play much of the contest, the top-ranked Blue Devils made easy work of No. 21 Rhode Island with a 75-65 victory in the championship game of the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off. Duke managed to hold its own in the paint despite playing a four-guard lineup and used a strong shooting performance from sophomore Luke Kennard to move to 4-1 on the season.
