DSG athletics, services and environment candidates

The seven candidates for the athletics, services and environment branch of the Senate are Emily Feng, Wendi Oppenheim, Daniel Reiff, Callie Roberts, David Robertson, Alex Schnoff and Ann Tai. The voting process will take place on Monday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. via a link that will be sent to each students’ Duke email account. The Chronicle's Danielle Muoio spoke with six candidates about their campaigns. Daniel Reiff declined an interview.

Lefkowitz reminisces about his accidental path to research

Nobel Laureate Dr. Robert Lefkowitz leans back in his chair, propping his feet up on his desk and listening thoughtfully as his graduate students gave presentations on their latest research. His eggshell-colored walls are lined floor-to-ceiling with awards, with others sitting precariously on the edge of windowsills or lining his desk. Other knick-knacks find precious real estate in his office as well—a yellow rubber duck on his desk, a Blue Devil rug and his family calendar. And then there’s his Nobel Prize in chemistry.
