Making the grade: Duke football vs Georgia Tech

The Blue Devils impressed in conference opener against No. 20 Georgia Tech at home Saturday afternoon. Despite a sloppy opening drive, Duke surged to a 19-3 lead and never trailed. Although both sides committed numerous gaffes due to the poor playing conditions, Duke’s defense limited the much-praised Georgia Tech rushing attack to just 173 total yards, as the Blue Devils improved to 3-1 on the season.


Making the Grade: Duke football vs Northwestern

The Blue Devils fell victim to costly turnovers Saturday afternoon in a 19-10 loss at Wallace Wade Stadium against Northwestern. Duke took a four point lead into halftime, but the Wildcats found their stride coming out of halftime and outscored the Blue Devils 16-3 in the second half to put the game out of reach. Although Duke’s defense was able to limit Northwestern to just 271 total yards, the Blue Devils fell to 2-1 on the season. 


Third and Goal: Duke football vs Northwestern

Duke will look to move to 3-0 against Northwestern Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Wallace Wade Stadium. The Blue Devils hope to keep their momentum going as they face their first test against a ranked opponent this season. Duke's high-powered offense will have to match up against a strong Wildcat defense that may be one of the best in the country. Here are three keys to the game:
