PITTSBURGH—After a slow start, the Blue Devils will need a second-half comeback to finish their final conference road game with a win.
PITTSBURGH—After playing so many games with so few players, the Blue Devils appeared to finally succumb to fatigue Sunday.
The No.15 Blue Devils play their last conference road game Sunday when they face off against Pittsburgh. Duke enters the game following a win against Florida State, while the Panthers enter having lost the last time out against Louisville. The Blue Zone takes a look at one player from each team who could be the difference in the game:
NEW YORK—When Duke took the field Dec. 26 at Yankee Stadium, there was one notable absentee: linebacker Kelby Brown. But Brown’s presence on the field was not forgotten.
NEW YORK—In a game that featured All-Americans, program record-holders and a plethora of veteran leaders, it was Duke’s backup running back who had the biggest impact on Saturday's game.
NEW YORK—After a back-and-forth first half, the Blue Devils are 30 minutes away from their first bowl victory in over 64 years.
NEW YORK—After three consecutive nail-biter bowl games in which Duke did not come out on top, it looked like the Blue Devils would have to wait yet another season to get that elusive bowl victory.
NEW YORK—As part of the build-up to Saturday's New Era Pinstripe Bowl, the Blue Devils and Hoosiers spent part of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with the media one last time Duke and Indiana take the field at Yankee Stadium.
NEW YORK—When Duke and Indiana take the field on Saturday, players on both teams will do something that few athletes in any sport get to do: play at Yankee Stadium.
NEW YORK—Heading into Saturday's New Era Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium, one of the biggest question marks for both teams is the availability of Indiana running back Jordan Howard. The junior exited the Hoosier's Nov. 21 win against Maryland with a knee injury, leaving Indiana without one of its most explosive weapons.
Despite dozens of players competing this weekend, somehow it was two Blue Devils who ended up meeting in their final match Sunday.
For all but one Blue Devil, this weekend’s tournament will close out the fall season.
It was a hard-fought 90 minutes, but in the end it was just 47 seconds that cost the Blue Devils the game.
With its season hanging in the balance, Duke made a change to its jersey. Since then, the results have been pretty in pink.
CHAPEL HILL—After a thrilling comeback victory the last time Duke faced North Carolina, another come-from-behind result was not in the cards Saturday night.
Playing its most challenging game so far this year, Duke did not disappoint.
After winning its first three games of the season, Duke will look to match its best start to a campaign since 2009.
