The Duke Jewish community stands united in mourning the loss of our brothers and sisters who were brutally murdered by Hamas terrorists this weekend in Israel.
It is with great excitement that the Jewish Student Union has chosen to endorse Leah Abrams for Young Trustee. Her commitment to hearing the voices of undergraduate students, passion for building relationships and activism in supporting a stronger relationship between Duke and its neighbors have led us to our enthusiastic endorsement. We believe Leah’s vision is well suited for both the Jewish community and the Duke community at large.
It is with optimism for Duke’s future that the Jewish Student Union endorses Luke Farrell for Young Trustee. Luke’s commitment to elevating student voices, passion for leaving Duke a better place than he found it, and dedication to building relationships earned him our enthusiastic endorsement. This particularly resonates with us because we believe that personal relationships are critical to building community. JSU’s core mission is to create a welcoming, supportive, and strong community for Jewish students on campus. We believe Luke’s vision, experience, willingness to stand up for students, and commitment to accessibility will serve our community and the greater Duke community well.
The Jewish Student Union is excited to endorse Kristina Smith for DSG President. We believe that her well-constructed platform and strong, intimate relationship with both the student body and the issues affecting the student body made her stand out the most amongst her very impressive competitors.
The Jewish Student Union is excited to endorse Amy Kramer for Young Trustee. While all four candidates are extremely qualified to serve as a Young Trustee, we believe that Amy presented the most well thought out vision focused on challenging the greatest issues that face the Duke community. Amy also brings a wide variety of involvement on campus. These reasons significantly distinguish Amy as the prime candidate for the position.
The Jewish Student Union is excited to endorse Anya Ranganathan for Young Trustee. While we believe that all four candidates are extremely qualified for the position of Young Trustee, we think that the extraordinary breadth and depth of Anya’s credentials and involvements significantly differentiate her for the position.
