For most of the past four years, Dr. John Bartlett, associate director of research at the Duke Global Health Institute, has been living in Tanzania. There, he has worked with physicians and researchers from Duke and Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre to conduct research on AIDS and other widespread disease in the country, as well as help build clinics, improve medical infrastructure and train local medical personnel.

The only female competitor in Campus Council's "Ultimate Hot Dog Challenge," Adeniran defied all expectations Monday night by defeating her 21 larger, more testosterone-infused competitors in only 6:22.

For the first time since 1992, no Duke students or alumni were awarded Rhodes Scholarships this year. The prestigious scholarship, which allows college graduates from across the world to study at the University of Oxford for two or three years, is granted to 32 American students annually.
