Recess talks to the U.S. National Poet Laureate

The United States National Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera visited Duke's Rubenstein Library Nov. 17 to read selections from his poetry and other works in both Spanish and English. Herrera is the first Mexican-American and Latino to be named poet laureate. The Chronicle sat down with Herrera to discuss his writing process, his activism and the subtle beauties of life.
