Thursday night against Wake Forest, the Blue Devils thrived with 11 3-pointers, while the Demon Deacons floundered with only three. Aided by an early lead, Duke defeated Wake Forest 91-73 at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The No. 4 Blue Devils (16-2, 4-0 in the ACC) gained the lead with fifteen minutes to play in the first half and never looked back.

Entering this season, Duke had appeared in the ACC championship game just twice in its history and had never won a conference tournament title. Last weekend, one of those things changed. After defeating Maryland 3-2 in the ACC tournament semifinals Friday afternoon, the Blue Devils earned their first tournament championship appearance in eight years and third in the program’s history.

Retribution was in the air Thursday for Duke in the ACC tournament quarterfinal against Virginia. The Blue Devils lost their final regular season match to the same Cavalier squad five days earlier but were able to bring home a win when it mattered. This time, Duke defeated Virginia (8-12, 1-4 in the ACC) 3-2 to keep their season alive.

At the close of their regular season Sunday, seniors Reid Carelton, Alain Michel and Jared Pinsky achieved the only outcome acceptable for their senior match: victory. Not only did the win over 5-2 No. 25 Miami (14-7, 8-3 in the ACC) leave a memorable legacy for the seniors, but it also ensured that No. 10 Duke will have a first-round bye in the upcoming ACC tournament.
